Jenny Ackland, Dip.Tchg (Primary), B.Ed, M.Ed, RSA Certificate in TEFLA. With three teenage children who keep her busy and informed about contemporary issues facing young people, Jenny Ackland first started teaching in the late ‘80s. She is experienced across a broad range of educational domains, (including education for young people with disability, and teaching English as a foreign language to children, adults and corporate workers in Japan and Melbourne). While gaining a Postgraduate qualification and Master Degree from the University of Melbourne, Jenny explored the topic of cultural diversity and wrote her research thesis on the intersection of culture, language and identity. Jenny has lived in Osaka, Japan and various cities in Turkey, and so has a solid foundation in working across diverse environments. In the last few years, Jenny has worked in sexuality and relationships education at Family Planning Victoria. She is a strong believer in social justice for all and is determined to deliver quality educational programs which ensure equity of access for young people so that they can get the information they need, when they need it. She believes better health and wellbeing is based on knowledge, and that sex ed needs to go beyond biology into the more complex areas of relationships and decision making. |

Justine Kiely-Scott, B.App.Sci (P.E.), M.Ed, Grad Dip (TESOL), Grad Dip (Adol Health & Welfare) Justine has always loved working with young people. Whether coaching young athletes or teaching in schools, her focus is on each individual feeling good about themselves, building confidence and working to their potential. After finishing her Bachelor of Applied Science (P.E.), Justine went on to complete her Masters of Education from the University of Houston, focusing on women, sport and the media. Justine has taught Health, P.E., English and E.S.L in secondary schools for over 10 years and in 2000 completed her Grad Dip in Adolescent Health and Welfare from the University of Melbourne. With three primary-aged children, Justine is experienced at answering the myriad of questions that come up on a daily basis. In recent years, Justine continued her work with young people, teaching sexuality and relationships education at Family Planning Victoria. Justine is passionate about young people having access to quality sexuality information and the opportunities to discuss issues that are important to them. |
